Hardwood Floor Care

Hardwood Floor Care Immediately Following Installation

· Exercise caution when using your floors for the first two weeks after installation.

· During this initial period, refrain from exposing the floor to water or placing rugs and carpets on it.

· It is advisable not to move furniture into the room for at least two to three days post-installation.

· Facilitate optimal curing by ensuring adequate air circulation through open windows or fan ventilation.

Hardwood Floor Cleaning

How to clean

  · Routinely vacuum or use an untreated dust mop to eliminate sand and grit that may contribute to premature wear.

· Address any spills promptly to prevent damage.

· Utilize a soft cotton cloth and Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner to manage wet spills appropriately.

· Avoid damp mopping; repeated wet cleaning will degrade the finish prematurely. Instead, adhere to the specific directions provided with Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner.

Cleaners

  · Do not employ oil soaps or generic household cleaners, as these substances can dull the finish and complicate future maintenance.

· Refrain from waxing the floors; application of wax prevents recoating, as polyurethane cannot be applied over wax or certain cleaning products.

Maintaining Your Hardwood Floor's Finish

  · Attach felt protectors to the feet of furniture to enable smooth movement and prevent scuffing.

Ensure that protectors are cleaned and replaced regularly.

  · Minimize walking on the floor in high heels and verify that all heel caps are intact.

· Position mats at exterior doorways to capture sand and grit from foot traffic.

· Use area rugs at transitional locations, such as stairway bases and doorways, but avoid rubber-backed rugs and those that do not allow the floor to breathe.
